Okay so I'm going to start off, not with the usual, "Hi my name is [insert generic name here] and im [insert young, argumentative, irritating age here] years old, i like [insert something normal like cats and fluffy things here]
No im going to start by telling you all to piss off.
If you have decided to read further then well done, you officially have nothing better to do with your life. Congratulations. You. Win.
I thought id start my blog with something along the lines of this...
So i was on the interent today and i was looking at facebook and other such things, and it occured to me how my genoration catorgarizes things, there are so many catorgorical groups today and it seems everyone has to fit into one, even though people say they are comfortable where they are, whether they fit in or not, i cant help thinking that they are just covering up for their own insecurities, because in one way or another, people base themselves on other people. Another thing that i see regularly is people comparing themselves to others, i myself am one of these people who is constantly comparing how i look to one of the "beautiful people", but how beautiful are the beautiful people? We all know of the catargory known as the "Plastics" and regardless of what people might say about them, i am noticing more and more that girls of this genoration are constantly comparing themselves to others, and the girls who claim not to be a part of this unhealthily thin, personality lacking, foundation drowned army of seemingly perfect clones, i cant help but see some simalarities, from the way their makeup is done, to the clothes that they wear, down to the way that they talk, and their general attitude to life. But the thing that i dont understand is, why have we all become so uncomfortable in our own skin? Why do we aspire to be like the plastics, because from my experience, the plastics i have met are nothing more than an entire fleet of twisted girls. Yet everyone sees them as perfect, as much as we hate them, there are girls everywhere who would give an arm to be as "perfect" as they are, but what we dont realise is that they are far from perfect. If the monsters that we idolize are really as perfect as they seem, why do they need to wear so much makeup, if they truely were perfect in everyway then they wouldnt need makeup to look good, they would have perfect skin, perfect eyes, perfect hair, they wouldnt need all this effort to look what we all assume to be good.
So why do we all tell ourselves that these girls are perfect? Well because with all of the effort and fancy craftmenship, they have skin that looks perfect, eyes that stand out in the right way, perfectly styled hair, stick thin bodies and all the rest of it. But does that make them perfect? No it doesnt, underneath the layers of foundation, is an ordinary girl just like any other, but the years of having to maintain an appearance have left a mark, being a plastic comes at a cost, when you become this person you have to lose all sense of compassion, decency and empathy, when you lose all of these your left with a sick and twisted individual, and to be quiet honest, they may look good, they may have all the friends, they may be able to name more boyfriends than is imaginable, but if you take away the smoke and mirrors, they arent anything at all.
So why compare ourselves to them, is a mystery, and something i wont ever understand, but whoever it might be we will always find ourselves trying to live up to someone elses expectations.
God knows why...
